What is a UPS? Static switch, batteries, inverter, rectifier… but what does this mean to the user? Very little in reality. So, what is a UPS to the people at the end of the supply chain?

A UPS is a means to provide electricity when there is a power anomaly. Often, we assume that only a power outage will affect our electronics, but that isn’t the case. There are 9 power anomalies which can affect sensitive equipment and UPS products can protect against all 9, with the right system in situ.

So, a UPS system provides power in the event of a power anomaly - it’s as simple as that.

Once a week we will offer some guidance around UPS systems and establish on a basic level how they operate and/or what the benefits are.
